Job Description
Supervises and coordinates the daily operations. Ensures security and services are rendered according to hospital and department policies and procedures.
Job Responsibility
- Promotes Security department goals by selecting, motivating, and training capable team members.
- Leads the activities of assigned Security team members by communicating and providing guidance toward achieving department objectives.
- Supervises, hires, trains, disciplines and evaluates the performance of staff; ensures performance appraisals are completed in a timely manner.
- Prioritizes, schedules, assigns and monitors work to optimize operational performance.
- Schedules and trains security staff and administers policies governing physical security of the organization.
- Tours premises or monitors grounds via surveillance equipment.
- Responds to security breaches and prepares and files reports describing incidents, accidents, or intruders.
- Oversees and documents staff performance in a timely manner.
- Performs related duties as required. All responsibilities noted here are considered essential functions of the job under the Americans with Disabilities Act. Duties not mentioned here, but considered related are not essential functions.
Job Qualification
- Associate’s Degree required, or equivalent combination of education and related experience.
- Current License to practice as a Security Guard in New York State, or Current License to practice as an Armed Security Guard in New York State required, plus specialized certifications as needed.
- 4-6 years of relevant experience and 0-2 years of leadership / management experience, required.
